Crabbing is a great way to spend a summer day on the bayshore. All you need are some hand lines or traps, a net, and a basket. No license is required! Equipment for a family of four will cost approximately $20 and can be purchased from a variety of shops all around the area.
Crabs are abundant in the bayshore area throughout most of the summer in the saltwater creeks and inlets, as well as the bay itself. There are many great places to crab that are easily accessible by car or boat, and several locations where visitors can rent a boat.
Check out our Adventure Map to locate crabbing areas, boat rental stores and anything else you may need for a day on the water.
Also, don’t forget to bring your sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of cold drinks!
Send us your crabbing pictures so we can share them here on the website and on our BayTour app!
