Fishing is one of the most popular attractions on the Delaware Bayshore. For fishing on the Delaware Bay there are open boats, charter boats, boat rentals, kayak rentals and endless places to fish from the shore.
Salt water fishing trips
Salt water fishing for weakfish, drum, flounder, striped bass and a host of other species, is easy to plan and charter.
Fortescue is known as the weakfish capital of the world, and the Captains Association Marina (856-447-0565) is home to many charter fishing vessels that can take a group out for a day of angling action on the bay.
Fresh water fishing trips
The Bayshore region is also home to some of the finest fresh-water sport fishing in the state. Lakes, rivers and streams are everywhere and are teeming with bass, trout, perch and a host of other game species.
Parvin Lake in Pittsgrove Township is a designated lunker bass lake and routinely sees 5 pound plus fish hauled in season after season. The state record largemouth was caught at the Menantico Sand Ponds, which stretch from Millville south into Maurice River Township.
